Refers to the steps involved in shortlisting and choosing the most suitable candidate for a job.

This can be quite a lengthy process as it involves a series of steps before arriving at a final decision. Depending on the level of urgency and prerequisites required to fulfil the outlined responsibilities, the selection process differs across organisations. In most companies, the screening process usually involves a preliminary interview, receiving applications, screening applications, an employment test, an interview, reference checks, a medical exam if needed and then rolling out a final selection letter.
