Disciplinary Procedure

di·suh·pluh·nuh·ree pruh·see·juh

A standardized procedure put in place by the company stating the process for dealing with a non-conforming employee (such as warning, reprimanding or dismissal) to ensure uniformity throughout the company.

By setting an example and warranting consistent and correct internal communication, you can ensure conformity at the workplace. As HR professionals, it is also important to take cognisance of the matter at hand, be the watchdog, and address them as they arise. These procedures may apply to just about everything at your organisation: from following the company’s code of conduct to bullying & harassment.
